At Arcus we strongly believe in the power of personal contact. That is the only way to build long-term relationships. We regularly share the story of one of our colleagues. This month we would like to introduce you to Robbert Wigmans, Sales Arcus Industrial Supplies.

What does your working day look like?
‘In the morning I start by answering my e-mails and try to answer our clients as soon as possible. Furthermore, I am mainly busy helping the customers, which I do by making an offer according to their needs. I help the customers via mail or phone. Usually we have the products in stock, but if that is not the case I also make sure the customers receive our products ASAP or can pick them up in our One-Stop-Shop. Ultimately, my main goal every day is to help our customers and provide the best solution with our products.
‘If the guys in the warehouse need help, of course I jump in. We are ultimately one team.’
‘Sending certificates is very important for the customer. We have a system for this and they show what specifications our products meet. This is very important for our customers!’

What do you enjoy most about your work at Arcus?
‘Ultimately scoring orders, that just gives you a kick. That is ultimately what you are there for as a salesperson. The client is then happy with our products and I am happy with the order. Win-win.’

Why do you fit in so well at Arcus?
‘The team and the location. It’s a very nice working environment and you get plenty of opportunity for development. I am currently taking a NIMA A course and recently passed my practical exam. Pieter really helped me a lot in preparing for this exam! What general manager does this?’
‘That really sets Arcus apart from other companies. I really get the time and space for my personal development.’

What do you get a kick out of in your work?
‘I get a positive feeling when a client comes to me with an urgent request and I can then help him. I get real satisfaction from that. The customer is really happy that I was able to help him! The great thing for us is that we also help the customer with by-products that are sometimes not even related to stainless steel, but are very important for our customers to realize a project. If we can think along with our steel solutions and help, we are very happy to do so! We then really provide our clients with the total solution.’

How do you see the future at Arcus?
‘After my NIMA A, I want to get my NIMA B. I really want to develop further and I get that space at Arcus. So I see the future very positively with a particular focus on further development within sales so that I can take on more responsibility in the future and I want to work on long-term relationships with our clients.’
